What is Immunomics?

November 29, 2024 admin Comments Off on What is Immunomics?

Immunomics integrates omics technologies to study immune systems holistically. By combining data from immunology, genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, and bioinformatics, researchers gain a comprehensive view of immune function. Traditional immunology uses techniques like flow cytometry and ELISA for protein detection. Proteomics employs microarrays and mass spectrometry for biomarker discovery. Genomics uses Next Gen Sequencing for transcriptomic analysis. Transcriptomics focuses on single-cell RNA sequencing. Epigenomics studies DNA methylation and chromatin structure. Bioinformatics integrates diverse data types, posing challenges in data formats and analysis workflows. Tercen, an analysis platform, helps manage and analyze this complex data efficiently.
